01 — The Promise

Nothing prints
until you sign.

Full-colour DTF printing, done in our own shop on machines we run ourselves. You get a measured proof of your exact garment, in your exact colour, before anything gets pressed. Screen printing and embroidery are next on the floor.

02 — Methods

Launching with
one method. On purpose.

DTF first: full colour, no setup charges, no penalty for short runs — the honest first machine for a shop that proofs everything. Screen printing and embroidery join it soon, and until they do we will say "not yet" rather than fake it.

DTF Transfers

Printing nowFull colour
Any colour count

A full-colour transfer heat-pressed onto the garment. No screens, so no setup charge and no penalty for a complicated design — photographs, gradients and twelve colours all cost the same. Short runs stay cheap, revisions stay cheap, and the proof you sign is the artwork that prints.

Not the right call whenYou are running hundreds of pieces of simple one-colour art. Screen printing wins that on unit cost — ours is coming online, and we will say so rather than force the job through the wrong machine.

Design & Digitizing

In-house
Left chest

A logo built for a website is not a file a machine can run. We redraw and prepare your artwork so what comes off the press matches what is in your head — and tell you honestly when it will not hold up.

What we need from youWhatever you have. A vector file is ideal, a transparent PNG works for most DTF jobs, a photo of a business card is a starting point.

Screen Printing

Coming soon
Volume runs

One screen per colour, setup paid once, then every piece is cheap — the volume method. It is next on our floor. Until then, DTF covers most of the same jobs and we will tell you when it genuinely does not.

Why it is worth the waitA hundred shirts of one-colour art costs dramatically less per shirt through screens. When yours is that job, you will want this machine — so do we.

Embroidery

Coming soon
Front panel

Stitched, not printed — the method that makes hats and polos read as expensive. The stitched line launches when this comes online; the caps and polos are already picked and waiting on the blanks page.

Want in earlySay so on a quote. We will be straight with you about timing instead of taking an order we cannot sew yet.

03 — The Proof

This is the part
nobody else shows you.

Before a single garment is touched, you get this: your art, your blank, your placement — measured. Move the placement below and watch the spec change.

These are standard placements. Yours gets measured against your actual garment and your actual art, and it does not go to press until you reply with the word yes.

04 — Process

Revision history.

Four steps, and you hold the gate on the third one.

REV 00

Pick the blank

Tell us the job and we'll point at the right garment. Not the most expensive one — the one that survives your use case.

REV 01

Send artwork

Any format you have. We redraw, separate or digitize it so it can actually be produced, and we flag anything that will not hold up.

REV 02

Approve the proof

You get the measured mockup: garment, colour, placement, method, size run. Change anything. Nothing moves until you say yes.

RELEASE

Into production

Decorated in-house on our own machines. Nobody subcontracts it, nobody substitutes your blank, nobody calls you after the fact.

05 — Proof of work

We're our own
hardest customer.

The Thread Shed produces apparel for two brands we own outright. When a hat comes off the machine wrong, it is our money and our name — which is a considerably better quality guarantee than a page of adjectives.

07 — Questions

Before you send art.

What file do you need from me?

Send whatever you have. A vector file — .ai, .eps or a true .svg — goes straight to production. A high-resolution PNG with a transparent background works for most DTF and screen jobs. A photo of a business card is a starting point we can redraw from. What we will not do is quietly stretch a low-resolution logo and print it blurry.

Which method should I use?

Tell us the garment, the quantity and what the art looks like, and we'll tell you. As a rough guide: hats and polos want embroidery, volume runs of simple art want screen print, and short runs or full-colour art want DTF. The methods section above covers when each one is the wrong choice, which is usually the more useful half.

Why doesn't the site show prices?

Because a number on a page would be a guess. Decorated apparel pricing moves with the blank, the quantity, the number of colours, the placement count and current blank availability. We quote the real figure against your actual job, and we hold it.

Can I order something that isn't in your catalogue?

Yes. The styles we show are the ones we keep moving and know well. Behind them is the full S&S Activewear catalogue, so if you need a specific brand, cut or colour, ask.

What's your minimum order?

It depends on the method — screen printing has a practical floor that DTF does not. [MINIMUMS TO BE CONFIRMED BEFORE LAUNCH]

Next step

Send us the job.
We'll send back a proof.

No payment, no commitment. Tell us what you need and we'll come back with the garment, the method and the real number.
